King of the Hill

Overview
Designed and built a compact autonomous robot for a King of the Hill competition, working within strict size, weight, and mechanical constraints. I designed the robot around an ESP8266 motor controller, DC gearmotors, servos, and 3D-printed components, incorporating a two-stage gear train to drive the wheels. The project required balancing mechanical design, traction, stability, and defensive mechanisms while staying within the 15 × 15 cm footprint and 500 g weight limit. As an extension I made a speaker that is able to play music from an SD card using DFPlayerMini.
